Updated every four years, the Racing Rules of Sailing is a must read for all racing sailors and you can now register to ensure you get your copy of the 2017–2020 rules.

Register now at www.rya.org.uk/go/racingbooks.

By registering via the RYA’s new dedicated Racing Books hub you’ll be kept up to date on availability, receive news on digital versions and find out about the latest special offers.

“We anticipate the new rules book being available to pre-order from the start of September and we hope to have copies in stock in time for visitors to purchase the 2017–2020 rules books from the RYA stand at the Southampton Boat Show, as well as from the RYA web shop,” commented Steen Ingerslev, RYA Publications Manager.

Once the new rules have been issued by World Sailing (ISAF) the RYA aims to release the three rules books first (RYA Racing Rules of Sailing 2017–2020, RYA Handy Guide to Racing Rules 2017–2020, and RYA Rules and Cases). The more detailed explanation of the rules (RYA Racing Rules Explained) will follow shortly after.

The aim is to ensure the updated content will be ready for when the rules come into effect in January 2017. Afterwards, changes to the relevant sections of the rest of the RYA’s racing books will be made in due course.

As well as the rules books, the RYA will be introducing the new RYA Racing for Yachts & Keelboats over the summer and the team are currently working on the new eBook edition of the RYA Rules & Cases book to ensure it will reflect the new rules coming out in September.

“We’ve been making huge digital advancements with our eBooks over the last four years, and we are working hard to ensure we keep the content of all our titles as relevant and up to date as possible.  This will allow sailors access to the rules and any associated cases via their phone or tablet quickly and easily, as and when it’s needed,” Steen added.

The RYA offers a wide selection of print books and eBooks to support all levels of sail racing, from the basic rules books to more detailed explanation of each rule, cutting-edge interactive eBooks, case books, tactics, and coaching.
