The Voyage Recorder device stores data (course, heading, speed, position and many others) from the yacht's NMEA2000 network on a MicroSD memory card. Associated free software allows to convert device data into GPX tracks and to generate logbooks.

This device is intended for storing data from the onboard network of the vessel on a MicroSD memory card. The onboard network of a typical yacht provides data about the position, course, speed, depth, water temperature, log, wind speed and direction, and AIS data of nearby vessels. Digital data from the motor, fuel and water fuel tanks, battery level, etc. may also be available. The Recorder writes all network data to the memory card. The associated free software application can be used to generate GPX and CSV files with vessel's track and extensive information about the sailing conditions. These tracks can be viewed in Google Earth, Garmin MapSource and other cartographic applications or into newer models of Garmin and Raymarine chartplotters. The CSV files can be viewed in any spreadsheet software.
