SlipFinder, the
groundbreaking new app that allows marinas and docks all over the east coast to
connect with boaters, has announced its launch on the Apple App Store.
SlipFinder offers an efficient booking solution to bring boaters and marinas
the same ease of mobile access people have come to expect in everyday life. The app’s sleek and simple design offers a
straight-forward, time-saving solution to slip reservations for both dock masters
and boaters. Upon download, dock masters can create marina profiles and build a
comprehensive list of available slips, prices, fees, and more. Individual slips
and moors can be listed instantaneously as they become available. Boaters can
then browse through marinas with vacancies, make an informed selection, and
book a slip with ease.
Marinas can chose to integrate the SlipFinder tool into
their existing reservation system or rely on the tool as their sole method of
booking. The purpose of the platform is to allow instantaneous communication,
transaction, and organization for marinas and boaters alike.
In 2014 alone, 88 million people partook in recreational
boating. SlipFinder creates a real-time communication platform for dock masters
to connect with these boaters and beyond to maximize exposure and minimize
unused slips.
How SlipFinder Works
Once boaters create their profile, they can save the
dimensions and details of their boat and a list of their favorite marinas and
slips to make rebooking a breeze. Upon booking, the boater’s credit card is
charged and their slip is open and ready for their arrival.
Additional features allow boaters to extend their
booking, share reservations with family members, save frequent destinations,
and add multiple boats to their profiles. After collecting this data, the app
will be able to help marinas advertise and promote themselves to the most
appropriate, targeted consumers.
Over three quarters of marinas are privately owned and
operate on an inefficient or unorganized reservation system. The discontinuity
can lead to boater miscommunication and serious revenue loss due to unused
slips and moors. Additionally, most marinas operate on a first-come,
first-served basis, which puts dock masters at risk for empty slips and boaters
at risk for insufficient docking options. SlipFinder gives both dock masters
and boaters alike the concrete booking assurance they need to make the absolute
most of their short boating season.
Current Status
SlipFinder is now available on the Apple App Store for
free download. Over 60 Marinas have signed on to SlipFinder from New England to
the Bahamas and around to the panhandle of Florida.
