Coating Manufacturer Launches Feature-Rich, Affordable Bottom Paint

Pettit Marine Paint, leading manufacturer of high performance marine coatings, announced today the release of an entry-level water-based antifouling paint, Neptune 5. This latest addition to Pettit’s award winning line of ecofriendly bottom paints provides lower applied cost per square foot, easier application and is priced for budget conscious consumers.

Formulated using the latest technology available, Pettit has created a hybrid paint film strong enough to handle the tough marine environment, yet it self-polishes similar to a seasonal ablative. With no strong solvent smell, Neptune 5 is very user-friendly in application, and has a low VOC release (the amount of solvent released into the atmosphere) – well suited to environmentally conscious boat yards and marinas in several parts of the country that are seeing increasing restrictions. Additionally, Neptune 5 can be applied over all other bottom paints. When compared to other similar coatings, Neptune 5 not only has a larger coverage area, it requires no respirator or sanding between coats and can be cleaned up with soap and water.
